Bellbird Creek Hotel Rest Area

Rest Area Overnight - Victoria

This is a great free overnight rest area located behind the friendly Bellbird Creek Hotel. The owners are very welcoming and love having you enjoy a night at the pub. Give your cook a night off and enjoy a meal at the pub and enjoy a refreshing beverage while you are at it.

It is suitable for self-contained motorhomes and caravans. There is plenty of shade if you need it. The owners have provided two very large grassy areas for you to camp on.

Make sure you introduce yourself at the pub before you head on down to a campsite please.

We stayed overnight January 2017. It was a Monday night and that means euchre night to the friendly folk around here. I was invited to play and the better half had a number of people to talk to whilst I enjoyed the cards. The meals were good value and the beer was cold, what better recommendations can you get. Plenty of room for big rigs and agree it may be a bit slippery when wet.

Plenty of room to set up. We stayed overnight and had a meal in the pub. Far enough off the road so passing traffic wasn't a problem.

We stayed there overnight in June 2016. It is a beautiful area and the publican is very helpful and friendly. The pub wood fire and very reasonably priced meals are great. The night we stayed there, it absolutely poured with rain all night but the bridge over the creek was still well above the flowing water the next morning. However if you have a front wheel drive motorhome we do not recommend parking there in very wet weather. We found that although the ground was firm our front wheels had no traction on the wet grass however the friendly publican has a 4WD and a tractor if required. His 4WD was soon used to tow us onto drier ground with no dramas and we were soon on our way again. Make sure you check in at the pub before you drive down to the parking area. Can you also thank the publican for towing us out.

Good stopover with a friendly country pub. No phone reception as it is at the bottom of the hill. Well shaded areas. Very quiet in between infrequent traffic. Confirm the other review - grass would be slippery when wet & you need to check before driving down in a big rig. Would stay again.
